The Student Center is operated by an extensive staff of professional and student employees dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of customer service, programming and performance. The Student Center staff is committed to making visitors’ experience with the center a positive one and welcomes feedback.
Boyd Beckwith: Senior Director
It was Boyd Beckwith's experience as a member of the university activities organization’s concerts committee while pursuing his bachelor of arts degree in both business administration and music at Bowling Green State University that led to his career in student affairs. He received his master of arts in student affairs in higher education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. At Georgia State University, Boyd manages and provides leadership for the Student Center in areas including staff supervision, policy formation and budget and event management for a 200,000-square-foot facility that has an average of 20,000 users daily. He serves as a liaison with Campus Services and retail tenants and chairs the Student Communications Committee. Boyd is an active member of the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), which provides students and administrators resources to build campus community. He has served as the director of Region 12 of ACUI and was honored to receive the region’s Shirley Byrd Perry Outstanding Professional Award. Throughout his career, Boyd has worked to give students a stronger voice in determining the programs and services that are offered while helping them to develop life and leadership skills.
DeLea Kearse: Business Services Manager
DeLea Kearse received a bachelor of business administration from Saint Joseph's College in Indiana. In August 2000, she began managing the internal accounting system for the Student Center, which receives support from multiple sources with an annual budget that exceeds $5 million. DeLea is responsible for administering the financial management processes, ensuring compliance with all personnel and business practices and coordinating the accounting procedures for the center. In addition to overseeing the accounting functions and staff, she also co-supervises the Information Center and Campus Tickets areas.
Lesia Chandler: HR Coordinator
Lesia Chandler has over 25 years of experience in administrative roles. She began working for the Student Center in June 2003. Lesia is responsible for overseeing and managing the administrative front office and supervising the office clerical staff. She serves as the assistant to the director and performs various duties relating to the center's business operations. Lesia often represents the Student Center in various activities for the university and serves as a liaison between the department and the university community.
Ramona Rollins: Accountant
Ramona Rollins received a bachelor of business administration concentrating in accounting from Georgia State University. In November 2005, she began working at the Student Center as an accounting assistant while finishing her degree. Beginning in July 2008, Ramona began full-time as an accountant to assist the business manager in fiscal tasks. She internally coordinates the procurement card program and aids in its compliance, and she assists with ensuring efficient and effective internal controls through monthly reconciliations and reviews of revenue, expenses and payroll for the center.
Bryce McNeil: Assistant Director for Student Media
Bryce McNeil received a bachelor of arts from Cape Breton University and a master of arts from the University of Maine. Bryce has worked for the Student Center since August 2008. He manages and provides counsel for the leaders of the student media outlets, including GSTV, New South and The Signal. GSTV provides student-produced and public domain content to Georgia State University Housing and to PeopleTV. New South produces a bi-annual student-reviewed literary journal and presents student readings in the Atlanta area. The Signal distributes 3,500 copies of its newspaper 30 weeks of the year.

David Murkison: Associate Director for Building Administration
David Murkison has a bachelor in communication arts and a master of business administration from Georgia Southern University. He holds a master of education from the University of South Carolina. David joined the Student Center in August 2011. He is responsible for daily operations and facility management and manages the center's maintenance, custodial services, security and building reservations areas. Additionally, he provides support to tenants and is responsible for ensuring quality event support, including room setups, audiovisual support and building management.

Nicholas Moore: Media Supervisor
Nicholas Moore received a specialized degree in the recording arts from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. He has worked for Georgia State University since November 2005. At the Student Center, Nick is responsible for providing client technical support for the daily operations of all media-enhanced events. Nick serves on the university commencement board as the audiovisual consultant and serves as the staff advisor for the Georgia State Ultimate Frisbee Club.
Justen Keeney-Ritchie: Media Utilization Specialist I
Justen Keeney-Ritchie received a bachelor of music with a concentration in music recording and production from Georgia State University in 2008. Since June 2010, he has assisted the Student Center media supervisor in all aspects of audio, video, projection, lighting and show production for events and helped supervise and train student staff in these areas. He is also actively involved in music recording, mixing and live sound reproduction and enjoys photography and vacuum tube electronics, in addition to playing guitar and bass.

Anthony Banks: Event Support Coordinator
Anthony Banks received a bachelor of fine arts from Georgia State University. He has worked for the Student Center since July 2001. Previously, he was a staff member with Continuing Education. Anthony assists in coordinating facility reservations, specifically providing client support for the campus spaces reserved by the Student Center, including the west exhibit areas in the Urban Life Center, Library Plaza, Unity Plaza, Urban Life Plaza, Langdale Hall Plaza, Hurt Park and display space for banners. He manages the University Solicitation Policy for vendor requests and also coordinates data and voice connections related to special projects in the center.
Jeannie Cho: Assistant Director, Operations and Event Services
Jeannie Cho is a native Californian who moved to Atlanta from Las Vegas and joined the Student Center team in November 2014. For six years, she gained experience planning events, training and running the foundation for the Nevada Restaurant Association and Nevada Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. There she planned events that featured notable figures, such as celebrity chefs Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Lagasse and Michael Simon. Jeannie is a certified food trainer for food safety, responsible alcohol service and restaurant management. In this capacity, she has worked with many large organizations, including the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, Target Corporation and the Clark County School District. In addition, Jeannie has administered the ProStart program, a national high school culinary and restaurant management program.
Amy Stehman: Event Planning Coordinator
Amy Stehman joins the Panther Family from New Jersey where she received a Bachelor of Arts with a Specialization in English and Writing Arts and a minor in Education from Rowan University. She has many years of experience working in Higher Ed including during her undergrad years. Since graduating, she has worked in the event planning field and is currently the Event Planning Coordinator in the Event Management Office and has been with us since May 2016. Amy enjoys working with university departments in the planning and execution of their events and ensuring all of the details are covered and the event is a success.
Nyrice Grayson: Event Planning Coordinator
Graduate of the University of California, San Diego, Nyrice Grayson moved to Atlanta to pursue the start of her career. During her undergraduate years, she majored in Sociology with a minor in African American studies while gaining experience as a student intern at various campus departments. There, she developed a greater understanding of how universities work to serve students to give them a fulfilling college experience. Nyrice began working with the Student Center in June 2018 and is eager to contribute to the success of student events.
Monica Graham: Administrative Coordinator
Monica Graham has over 18 years of experience in administrative and management roles and has received professional training in the areas of business administration, computer information systems and customer service. She began working for the Student Center in January 2008. Monica manages the operations support front office. She assists in coordinating administrative tasks and daily activities for the center under the guidance of the center's associate director. She also maintains department records, files and databases; schedules equipment maintenance and tracks work order progress and completion.
Joe Breitbach: Maintenance Foreman
Joe Breitbach oversees Student Center maintenance and supervises maintenance personnel. A member of the Student Center staff since April 2003, Joe possesses expertise in a number of maintenance areas, including carpentry, plumbing, drywall, flooring and heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

Yabsera “Yabi” Demissie, was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, but her heart forever lies with a beautiful country located in East Africa called Ethiopia! Yabi obtained a bachelor's degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida and her master's degree in College Student Affairs from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). At NSU, Yabi served as the Graduate Assistant for Student Programming in the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement. The highlight of her experience was definitely advising the Student Events and Activities Board, better known as the LIT (Life Involvement Team) Squad, where she took part in helping plan on and off campus events including, Weeks of Welcome, Homecoming and Fin Fest Week!! Yabi is excited to embark on her journey at Georgia State University as Spotlight Programs Board prepares to kick-off the 2017-18 academic year.

CC Thomas assists the assistant director for programs with Spotlight Programs Board and other projects as assigned. A 2006 graduate of Georgia State University with a bachelor of science in psychology, CC has been working with the Student Center since October 2007.
Nia Moore: Digital Marketing Specialist, Student Center
Nia Moore is a Digital Marketing Specialist at Georgia State University, where she oversees digital strategy in three main areas - website development, social media, and digital signage. Nia has worked with local companies in the Atlanta-area as a freelancer, and really enjoys helping companies find and connect with their audience online. A 2007 graduate of Georgia State University, Nia is happy to be a Panther again!

Kristina Clement has been with Georgia State University since 2007. In 2009, she transitioned from University Housing to the Student Center to lead the Leadership Programs area. Prior to her work at Georgia State, she spent six years working the Freshman Experience program at Georgia Tech. She has her master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She received her bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Kristina is currently enrolled in Educational Policy Studies Ph.D. program at Georgia State with a research interest in First Amendment issues and students’ rights.

Chris Leary: Student Affairs Advisor II, Leadership
Chris has been a member of the Leadership Programs team since October 2016 and is responsible for planning workshops, retreats, and events that help students grow in their leadership capacity. He completed a Bachelor’s of Business Administration at Kennesaw State University and a Master’s Degree in College Student Affairs at the University of South Florida, where he served as a Graduate Assistant in the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement. Prior to Georgia State, Chris worked at the University of Colorado Boulder managing student organization needs while also coordinating leadership development initiatives for students. A native of Savannah, Chris is excited to work and live in Atlanta where he can be close to his friends and family.
